Description: Satsuma-Iwojima volcano, located 40 km south of Kyushu, Japan, continuously emits high-temperature volcanic gases from the rhyolitic cone of Iwodake. Present surface manifestations at Iwojima Island are solfataras, steam fumaroles, hot springs and diffuse degassing.
