Maccalube di Bissana (Sicily, Italy)

Bissana's maccalube

Type: Bubbling Water
Description: The site is located on the southern side of Mount Sara, in "Contrada Cavalieri" and consist in a little mud volcanoes; it can be reached by the local road (SP 31 Cattolica - Cianciana), following for the direction " Bissana". Far few kilometers there is another area located on a hilly relief, immediately sets to north respect Mount Bissana; these manifestations consist in two bubbling salty water polls (named "abisso grande" and "abisso piccolo") wide less than 10 meters, with occasional mud volcanoes.
