Scicli sampling point

Type: Soil Diffuse Emission
Description: The sampling point is located at about 5 kilometers in S direction respect to Scicli, near the village Cava d'Aliga. The soil degassing point in placed behind a little rock wall, in the side of a local road in Contrada Pagliarelli, in corrispondence of an outcrop of stratified white limestone. This sector of the hyblean plateau is interested by an important active tectonic lineament, the Scicli line, at which are attributed in part the recent seismic events of 1980 and 1990.
