Description: São Vicente island (227 km2) is one of the Barlovento Islands, Cape Verde archipelago, West Africa. Cape Verde is consists of an intra-plate volcanic chain, Cape Verde Rise, the world’s highest intra-plate elevation in the ocean crust and occupies a position on the passive margin of the African plate, coincident with important residual geoid and gravimetric and heat flow anomalies related to the wellcharacterized Cape Verde mantle plume.
