Description: | Brava (67 km2) is the westernmost island and it is located 18 km west of Fogo. Although no historical eruptions have occurred at Brava, the island is seismically active suggesting the occurrence of shallow intrusive activity. At Brava there are two areas (Baleia and Vinagre) characterized by high -soil CO2 contentswhich have produced several lethal accidents to animals. |
