Description: The Las Pailas is a liquid-dominated two-phase reservoir with temperatures of 220–255 8C (at a depth of about 600–700 m) (Castro 2002), located at the southern flank of the volcano Rincon de la Vieja, Guanacaste Volcanic Cordillera. It shows surface manifestations such as vapour discharges from fumaroles and steam-heated pools.
